✅Acceptance of Terms

By using Tangle, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

🚀Description of Service

• Call-to-Chat invitations with limited-time responses (up to 4 participants)
• Live presence tracking with 30-second inactivity timeout
• End-to-end encrypted sessions with per-call shared keys
• One-time and recurring scheduled chats with exact-time notifications
• Ephemeral sessions: content removed when chats end
• Burner tags: temporary handles with orange UI indicator
• Unanimous consent system for adding participants or pausing chats

👤User Accounts

• Authentication: Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and Firebase Email Auth
• User Tags: Choose a unique identifier (limited to 2 changes per account)
• Profile: Optional display name and privacy settings
• Burner Profiles: Optional temporary identity with separate tag and name
• Privacy Controls: Set who can invite you (anyone/contacts-only/nobody)
• Security: You're responsible for account security

⚠️Acceptable Use

• No spam, harassment, or abusive content
• No impersonation or spoofing using burner profiles
• No illegal content or activities
• No attempts to circumvent security, encryption, or presence rules
• No attempts to access others' encrypted session data
• Do not use the service to harm minors
• Respect the 30-second presence timeout system

Report violations: Contact abuse@tangle-app.com to report users violating these rules.

🔐Privacy and Encryption

• Per-Session Encryption: Each call has its own key; only participants can access content
• Minimal Metadata: RTDB stores only letter tokens, no readable names or UUIDs with messages
• Ephemeral Content: Messages removed when sessions end, gone from servers and devices
• User Control: You control contacts, privacy settings, burner tags, and blocking
• Reporting: Inappropriate behavior can be reported to abuse@tangle-app.com

📡Service Availability

• Firebase infrastructure dependency
• Scheduled maintenance may temporarily affect service
• No guarantee of 100% uptime

📝Content and Conduct

• User Content: You retain ownership of what you share during sessions
• Ephemeral Storage: Message content stored encrypted during active sessions, removed at session end
• Session Control: Hanging up ends sessions and removes content access for all participants
• Moderation: We cannot moderate encrypted content but investigate reports
• Account Actions: We may suspend accounts for Terms violations

📱Contact Management

• User lookup by unique tags for adding contacts
• Blocking unwanted users (blocks apply to account ID, not changeable tags)
• Privacy controls: set who can invite you to chats (anyone/contacts-only/nobody)
• Contacts are private and never shared with other users
• Burner tag management: create, change, or delete temporary handles

📅Scheduled Calls

• Schedule one-time chats: set date/time, participants notified at exact moment
• Recurring schedules: automate regular touchpoints (daily, weekly, etc.)
• Participant notifications: everyone gets alerted exactly when scheduled to join
• Schedule management: leaving a scheduled group removes you; creator leaving deletes schedule
• Unanimous approval: adding participants to scheduled chats requires everyone's consent

⚖️Limitation of Liability

Tangle is provided "as is" without warranties. We're not liable for service interruptions, data loss, misuse by other users, third-party service failures, or content shared by users.

🚪Account Termination

• You may delete your account through the profile page
• We may suspend accounts for Terms violations
• Account data removed upon termination

🔄Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and will notify users of significant changes through the app.
